I worked with Spring Science to enhance the AI software's user experience and interface, while updating the Spring brand. Our goal was to facilitate a better connection between researchers and innovative technology, and create a scientific tool that is more intuitive and personalized. To achieve this, we used a clean design, vibrant colors, and illustrations to simplify complex tasks.
Spring gives scientists superpowers by putting world-leading technology and easy-to-use software in the hands of researchers working to understand and battle disease.
Spring’s mission is to give scientists the best tools in the world to help them fight disease, by leveraging new software, design, and machine learning tools to take on this challenge. Spring’s approach is to be an extension of industry partners’ teams in their discovery and preclinical efforts; and to build software helping scientists comprehend and make decisions using high-dimensional data.
<aside> 👉 However, a significant challenge for Spring was that their software and workflows are actually quite complex. Unless you had deep familiarity in the biotech field…it was difficult to understand Spring’s process and tools. This was feedback Spring often received, especially from buyers and decision makers.

I developed a user-friendly design and illustration approach to simplify complex processes and make them more accessible for individuals who lack a scientific background.
To simplify these complex features and tell a consistent story, I created a scalable design system that offers users a customized and user-friendly UI. I used this design system to create the high-content image analysis software for Spring. The system allowed me to organize the software's complex features and provide a clean and simple user interface.
We also incorporated an animation style to complements the brand's look and feel.
We first identified key user flows, then, to develop our high-content image analysis software, we started by creating a sketch of the user interface wireframe. I collaborated closely with our product team to identify the best components to include in the dashboard for our users to work with. Once we had a clear idea of what we wanted, we moved on to creating mockups, and finally, a high-fidelity prototype.
